Quinces contain many important and healthy ingredients. 100 g of fruit pulp contains almost 26% of the daily norm of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), 18.7% of the norm of vitamin A and 2.8% of the norm of vitamin E. Quince juice together with honey strengthens the stomach and liver, and fresh fruits stabilize digestion. High iron content together with ascorbic acid makes quince effective against iron deficiency anemia. The fruits will be useful after prolonged debilitating illnesses, especially with fever. Quinces contain many useful ingredients, but can be harmful if used incorrectly. It is important to remember that quince seeds must be kept whole, in no case should they be crushed. Amygdalin released during the destruction of bones can cause poisoning, and under the influence of vitamin C its activity increases. There are also several other restrictions: 1. In cases of ulcers, it is better not to use fresh quince fruits and their juice, as irritation of the mucous membranes is possible. 2. It is also better not to use quinces in case of chronic constipation. 3. The use of quinces is undesirable if you have pleurisy. Remember – before using any folk method for therapeutic or preventive purposes, consult a doctor!
